I've only just come back from holidays to jump in at this late point, but one of the biggest things I'd like to see for DX is the ability to have "hotspots" on the desktop in which you could place the cursor and automatically run a program, jump to a bookmark/url, etc. More like "invisible" or partially hidden (on mouseover be visible maybe?) This may be easily done, but when you're laying in a tent with your computer 100's of miles away, you can't try things out! <img src="http://images.stardoc

Good read there Brad, thanks for the heads up! Nice to know what to look for in future upgrades. Thanks!
Thanks for the heads up, I think I'll go get a copy tomorrow! Cheers!
Congrats! Cheers for all the great skins! Everyone!
Thanks for the wonderful program Alex, it's been fun! Maybe we'll see you again sometime soon!
hear hear! Reminds me of two small children fighting over the "new" toy! It was old then, it's really old now! Thanks for the heads up Brad!
I was having a bit of trouble with mine earlier, but I think this is more down to the glich talked about above. Sorry couldn't be more help!
I'm running Desktop X 2.19f[b].002 and and during my system up time, if I try to make or modify an object (no matter what theme I'm using) when I right click and view the properties of that object the first tab, "General", is missing and the rest of the information found on other tabs will be gone. I have to restart DX and everything is back to normal. But a few minutes later, it happens again....? Is it me? Is it this version? Is it my system? Any help would be greatly appreci
Great eye opener, didn't know aboout a lot of the issues with the API. Thanks for the heads-up!
This may not be the place for this, but a new icon for DX Objects that is different but similar to the DX Themes icon would be really nice for WC4! It's so hard when looking at the "Top Downloads", "Newest Additions" or "Updated Skins" to discern between a theme or an object. Widgets are easy!
I'm with you all the way Martin, this is a wonderful idea! I also like a lot of the ideas placed already, but one thing I haven't seen yet sub-tutorials on each of the sub-sections of the DX Objects. Not a generalisation, nor a "all encompassing" tutorial, but an example of each type alongside a working object with properly commented code. Also, I'd be willing to help with coding objects, but need t
Works fine for me now Frogboy! No hitches so far! Thanks for the rapid response on an update, albeit v1.03 was working fine in the mean time! Cheers!
got one... installed 1.05 from 1.0, rebooted for other reasons, seemed to boot ok (although I got different boot screen than the one I had been using [?]), got login screen, smartMCP displayed, start and task started to fill... BOOM! Blue screen! Details from Blue Screen follows: - ... Problem caused by vidstub.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA ...
This is wonderful news for all! Even more reason to get into skinning and all the fun and excitement, not to mention the hard work, to bring definative personalisation to the end user! Props to all at Stardock, and thanks for the insight! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gi
thanks liaqat, I'll try that! Cheers!
does anyone else get an error in the Desktop X theme asking for a disk to be inserted? if so, how do I stop it without having to unload the DX2 theme? it just keeps sending alerts to me and I can only cancel it and another pops up? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
A few things I've found in my searches about copyright and the systems out there: in the UK: http://www.patent.gov.uk/copy/ in the US: http://www.copyright.gov/ Good info here, and remember that the moment you create something it is copyrighted to you. Your job, and that of the people you employ to prove it, is the hard part. Good luck to all! <img src="http://images.sta
